Mr. Shulruff graduated from the University of Illinois-Urbana with a B.A. in 1981.
He received an M.S.J. from Northwestern University in 1983 and his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 1988.
 

    Experience

  Mr. Shulruff joined the firm in 1993.  He became a Partner in 1999 and a Shareholder in January 2002. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shulruff was a litigator for a couple of Chicago law firms handling commercial disputes. Before attending law school, Mr. Shulruff was a newspaper reporter for several papers across the United States, including The Denver Post. Mr. Shulruff is A-V rated by Martindale Hubbell.  

  Expertise

 
Mr. Shulruff concentrates his practice in the areas of insurance defense, fraud investigation, coverage, subrogation and bodily injury. He has tried nearly 50 cases to verdict in Cook, Lake and McHenry Counties, including arson cases, coverage disputes and personal injury matters. He has also prevailed
on several cases reviewed by the Illinois Appellate Court.

He has written extensively on law-and business-related issues for such publications as The New York Times, The National Law Journal, The American Bar Association Journal, Working Woman
Magazine and others.

He has also spoken to various insurance groups on such topics as spoliation of
the evidence and identity theft. Mr. Shulruff is a member of the Trial Bar of the
United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
