Mr. Strawbridge
graduated from Colgate University in 1970, with a B.A.
in English. He received his J.D., with honors, from
John Marshall Law School in 1978, where he led the
National Moot Court Team. In between college and law
school, Mr. Strawbridge served as an officer in the U.S.
Army, assigned to the 1st Infantry Division
Artillery. |

Mr.
Strawbridge is the newest partner in Sudekum, Cassidy & Shulruff,
Chtd, joining the Firm in January, 2007. Prior to joining the
Firm, Mr. Strawbridge was a partner in a large, international
insurance law firm, where he concentrated his practice primarily
in subrogation, with experience also in insurance defense,
coverage and other areas. With his former firm, Mr. Strawbridge
was responsible for managing national and regional subrogation
programs for several prominent insurance companies, a practice
he continues with SCS. |

Mr. Strawbridge is one of the most
experienced fire litigation attorneys in the nation. He has
successfully and routinely handled large, complicated
subrogation cases in a wide range of jurisdictions, in which he
has produced recoveries for his clients in seven and eight
figures. In 2006, he won a $29 million verdict and judgment at
trial. In 2008, he won a $3.4 million verdict and judgment
arising from one of Chicago’s largest recent fires. He also
successfully defended a national product manufacturer in an
eight-figure property damage fire case.
